Newsletter December 2007
Hi to all!

Once again it is a long time between newsletters - I have come to the conclusion that there are just not enough hours in the day. I am not quite sure what to do about this other than to perhaps try and pack less into those days but there is just so much to do.

The last few months has seen me concentrating on the completion of my latest project of which I will give you all a sneak preview; my latest book, Shane Stanley’s Noosa Farmers’ Market.

The biggest bonus of all has been the emergence of a new Farmers’ Market at the Big Pineapple. Shane Stanley, the person behind the Noosa Farmers’ Market has taken great joy in the success of this new market which has made fresh local produce even more accessible, especially to those south of Noosa and I am sure as time goes on they will continue to get better and better. Many of you may already be familiar with these markets, but I will touch on some of the stalls at this market and encourage you all to have a look as it is such a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning.

Market Discoveries

The last few months have been a market smorgasbord for me, working on a book that is exclusively about the farmers’ market leaves no room for excuses as to why not to try something. In Queensland we are lucky from the perspective that our seasons are not as rigid as in the southern states, so what is out of season for them can be pretty much in season for us most of the year.

New Big Pineapple Farmers' Market

I think one of the happier days of my life (I am easily pleased) was the launch of the new farmers’ market at the Big Pineapple back in September. Living in Buderim, all though I do spend a lot of time frequenting the Noosa Framers’ Market, having a farmers market a little closer to home is an absolute delight.

New to Local Harvest

Cooking Schools

Local Harvest now has new category for Cooking Schools. I have spent the last few months helping to develop the website for On The Ridge Cooking School which drew my attention to the number of cooking schools on the Sunshine Coast, so thought this category would make a nice addition to Local Harvest.
